The show is held in the Saulnier Parish Church, a spectacular wooden structure that is pictured below. This annual event is sponsored by the Guilde Acadien de Clare, a local quilt guild who work very hard at making this the successful event that it is.
The setting for the display of quilts is breathtaking.
A quilt or quilts is laid out on each and every pew...
and some are also draped from the choir loft.
Every color and style imaginable is on display.
The talent that is showcased on each and every quilt makes it evident that there are some very prolific quilters in the area and that the craft is very alive in Nova Scotia.

Today is the last day for this year's show and sale but if you're looking for something to do next year around the same time, consider adding this event to your list of "must things to see and do". Nova Scotians are among the friendliest people in the world, the scenery is spectacular and the seafood is to die for. Oh...and the local quilt shops are an added bonus for sure! Just ask me how I know that!
So are you coming? I promise you won't be disappointed!
Happy stitching!
Kaaren, es una belleza para la vista tener todos esos quilt, yo vivo en Madrid, España por lo que para mi es muy lejos, es por ello que agradezco publiques bellas imagenes...
ReplyDeleteUn gran abrazo
Oh me oh my! What a display and how beautiful it all looks. Than you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kaaren for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome breathtaking view in the church.
Now I know where Nova Scotia is at, had to look it up on the computer.
Canada is a little far from Germany, but who knows.
Greetings,
Sylvia
What an amazing sight just in the pictures. I am sure it must be spectacular to actually be there!! And I agree with you - the folks of Nova Scotia are so friendly. My husband and I visited Canada many, many years ago and traveled across the entire Continent. Everyone in Canada was really nice but when we got to Nova Scotia, we kept looking at each other saying, wow, what do they want from us, they are so nice!! Ha! Ha!! Typical Americans!! :-))
ReplyDeleteHow absolutely breath taking!! Wish I could see it for myself!!
ReplyDeleteI wish, I wish, I wish!! Beautiful! Do you have a quilt(s) in the show?
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking! Truly a religious experience.
ReplyDeleteWow....that is an amazing setting for all of those quilts. That is beautiful!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful church. It took my breath way. Wish I could see the show in the flesh. Maureen
ReplyDeleteI remember this from last year. It looks amazing. I wish I lived closer (a lot closer) then I could visit and see for myself. However, I really appreciate your photos. Thanks Kaaren.
ReplyDeleteNow that's one way to get me into a church!! haha Love this venue!! Spectacular...and I can actually hear the angels sing too!!

I'm planning a trip to Nova Scotia soon, but I'll miss out on all this beauty.
ReplyDeleteIf only I was coming to Nova Scotia again!!!! The photo from the balcony of the church with the quilts is fantastically amazing! What a sight it must have been to see! Thank you, Kaaren!

Spectacular display. The very first quilt show I ever had a quilt on display was a sweet old neighborhood church where we lived in Oregon. The quilts were also draped over the pews and it was lovely. However the sky was certainly not as blue as in your photo.
ReplyDeleteWOW doesn't quite express my awe...beautiful. X
ReplyDeleteThat is incredible! You never cease to amaze me with your talent and your blog photos.
ReplyDeleteJust breathtaking, Kaaren! Maybe not next year, but we'll be there for sure!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Such a beautiful, inspiring sight! Thanks for the photos!
ReplyDeleteIn years past there were similar (albeit smaller) shows in some local old churches and I thought it was such a wonderful display. Sadly, no one does them anymore. Too much work, I guess.
Beautiful, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThe church is beautiful all on it's own but these quilts are absolutely beautiful the way they are on display.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to see it in person. Thank you for sharing this with us!
what a wonderful collection, I bet you were tempted to hold some up to get a better look!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful setting for a quilt show!
ReplyDeleteThe setting for the quilts is fabulous, and I love how they were displayed. So many beautiful quilts. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts in a beautiful setting! Words are inadequate. I think I could spend hours there, soaking it all in. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful church! I truly think quilts over a church pew makes the most beautiful show ever. BTW, the color of your sky reminds me of New Mexico. Thanks for sharing the pictures!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilts and also the church. Your pictures are great. We had a similar show here at home in a local church but the church was much smaller so it not as extensive but a nice show none the less.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these beautiful images. It is a very impressive display.
ReplyDeleteA feast for my eyes!!
ReplyDeleteThanks & God Bless!
Definitely a breath-taking display of quilts. The white of the church accents the quilts beautifully. I have seen quilt shows in a church where everything was a bit dark looking.
ReplyDeleteOoohhh que maravilla !!
