Another Pin Keep

Gosh I'm having fun! The last pin keep I made is winging it's way westward to a new home. In the interim while waiting for some fabric orders to arrive, I decided to make another one, with a few changes. Have I mentioned that I LOVE working with wool? (wink)

It started like this...

and looked like this when it was done.

Inside, there are many storage compartments which can hold all kinds of doo-dads.

There can never be too many compartments...or doo-dads...can there?

And a few more...just because I was having so much fun.

And finally...

And that's what I did yesterday.

I need some kind of notion to keep it closed. I don't particularly want a snap as they are so predictable. I thought of a ribbon to tie it closed but then it would have to wrap around. Do you have any suggestions?

Happy stitching!

  1. hi kaaren.....love, love, love it! what about a really nice vintage button with some matching ribbon looped around to close it? you know...a little ribbon to slip over the button.
i have a question...is what you call wool, similar to felt? i've not seen much wool here, just normal cheap felt. i think i've phrased my question wrong, hope you know what i'm trying to say! LOL
    it's late here.

  2. Kaaren, I love it! The Pinkeep looks so good done in the wool.
What about using a tiny doll button with a crocheted loop? Would that work?

  3. Kaaren,
You are so smart. It is adorable. I think a narrow ribbon would be nice if you tacked it on so you wouldn't misplace it and it wasn't too wide to cover up the bunny. I like the other ladies suggestions too. I say it again, You are so smart!

  4. Or what about a button but with a small piece of thin elastic to hold it closed. I think your pinkeep turned out beautifully.

  10. Kaaren - it is so adorable! You know those manila envelopes that have a figure-eight closure with a little string? How about something like that and have the string made out of a thin strip of wool and wrapped between 2 cute buttons? Can't wait to see what you do!
    Cheers!

  12. What about a toggle button, with a ribbon loop? Or even a nice wooden button with a ribbon loop? It's very nice.
