They are one of the most beautiful species of birds that frequent our feeders.
Did you know that cardinals mate for life? They always come in pairs but take their turn at the feeders. If you see one then you know that their mate is not too far away, waiting patiently for their turn.
My gift to you this Christmas season are the patterns for these two cardinal ornaments I made last night.
I made mine from wool but you can certainly make them from cotton fabric if you so desire. Another option would be to make some in shades of blue as well because blue jays have a similar shape and size.
Click HERE for the patterns/line drawings.
Enjoy!
Happy stitching!

Dear Kaaren,
I will made a few for my christmas tree.
These birds are so colorful. But it's sad, that they not live here in Europe.
Have a nice time until christmas.

Thank you for the wonderful gift of the drawing. They are lovely.I was thinking the other night how much I miss your FFF. I do love cardinals. We have a lot during the spring and summer, then they leave but they come back in the winter. I am looking forward to their return. Thank you again.

I love to watch the birds at my feeders, we might see a blue jay or two but have not seen a cardinal. Thanks for sharing your design.
Que bonitos petirrojos!!!
Thank You Karen! Your wonderful ornaments remind me of the cardinals in my home state of Illinois. I do see an occasional cardinal in the Phoenix area but they are brown in color to blend into the desert. Merry Christmas Karen!
Thank you for the cardinal pattern. I will be making for Christmas next year. I hope you had a great Christmas.
Thank you,for the lovely bird pattern!
Have a nice week
