Pincushion/Scissor Holder

I took a little antique green depression glass vase that I had on a shelf looking pretty and collecting dust, propped a tomato pincushion that I made a couple of years ago into the throat opening then added some scissors from my collection to suspend from the holes in the lacy edge and now look...a really cute, multi-functional scissor holder/pincushion!

I don't know if I'll use it because I'm afraid that I'll knock it over and break it but it sure looks good sitting on top of my fabric cupboard with my other dust collectors collectibles.

Happy stitching!

I remember you using the glass frogs that go in a vase to hold your scissors. Do you still do that? I think the vase you are using is a piece of Fenton glass. Creative use of it regardless of what it is.

You have the scissor fetish too lol. Love the new purpose for the vase.

I love your pincushion. But I have to ask...where are pictures of Ollie and the kitty? Hope they are okay! XO

Very clever repurposing, Kaaren--and so pretty!

Lovely display Kaaren, I could even see some antique pearl buttons the vase. How clever are you to hang the scissors that way.

Genius, Kaaren! Why not put in some of those glass rocks they use in flower vases to keep it more stable?
Cheers!

I saw...and liked...this on your Facebook page. Very good idea but, like you, I might be afraid to actually use it.

like you I would be worried about knocking it over as the glass would be sure to shatter, very nice though and will look good on your shelf

Your vase is beautiful used this way and I bet it's happy to have a purpose in your quilt room. (Besides collecting dust)

Looking good is a job unto itself. Feeling good while looking at it is even better.

so cute, but I know I would knock it over. I do have 2 green sherbet glasses that would work for this, one is chipped. I might try that one and use the cushion but not the scissor holder. I would break it for sure. Thanks for the idea!
