Alice did an over-the-moon job with the quilting and the photos do not do it justice at all. I tried to take some photos at three different times of the day out on my clothesline but I can't seem to capture the correct colors and the quilting detail. I hope that you can see and appreciate a little of both.
I've finished writing the instructions by hand so now all there is left to do is to type them up, have them photocopied, package them and they'll be ready to send out. My goal is to have the pattern packets for sale in my Etsy shop one week from today.
Here are a few closeup photos...
As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I made a second one in a different colorway. Even though it is not quilted as yet, I will post a photo of it as soon as I can get a decent shot.
I hope that you like Safe Harbor as much as I do!
Happy stitching!

This quilt epitomises what we think of when we think of your home region. It's just lovely. You can be very proud of what you've created.
ReplyDeleteSo tempting to create such a beautiful quilt but so little time - if only......
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome, Karen, I love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the title "Safe Harbour" I love the see , i live in a little island and I'd reallly like to make this quilt.
Congratulations!!!
I just might love Safe Harbor more than you do but there is no need to argue over that of course. Ha! It's a wonderful quilt and since I love the shore and don't get to go there anymore, you can imagine how much I love it. That Cousteau quote is exactly right and just how I feel. There are probably many of us out there who have salt water running our veins rather than blood. Looking forward to seeing the pattern in your shop.
ReplyDeleteWow!!! it is gorgeous I like it
ReplyDeleteMartha

Kaaren, this is a fabulous pattern as when I get my September SS check I will be ordering it, if someone will be tending your Etsy shop for you. While I grew up spending summers at the Jersey shore (Ocean City), I moved to Maine in 2005 and was so taken with her beauty that I would like to comnmemorate it in a quilt like this, substituting a few touches of Belfast, ME into the one I make. The quotes you chose are perfect. May I ask where you found "sea themed" quotes? As I have mentioned before, I foolishly left Maine to move back to PA and have regretted it every single day. I never knew such peace and beauty as in Maine. My prayers are with you for complete healing and a return home very soon.
