I must confess that my addiction to scissors has not improved. As a matter of fact, since I first ‘fessed up’ back in August…which you can read about here if you missed it…it’s gotten worse!
Those pictured above are only a small representation of my collection but I must share with you my new way of displaying them.
A glass flower frog!
Don’t they look so cool displayed that way?
What I haven’t shown is the second one…also full. *sigh* I’ll save that for another time.
All of my swap gifts are done, wrapped, packaged and ready to mail. Two are being sent tomorrow and the last one can be mailed on Friday. One is going to Ontario, another to the UK and the last one to Australia. Now I can concentrate on my Christmas gifts which are coming along nicely as well.
Happy stitching!
Kaaren ♥
Very clever display.
ReplyDeleteThe glass flower frog is a wonderful way to display your scissors...then they're always close at hand. Love it!
ReplyDeleteVery nice display! I think my grandmother used to have one of those...wonder what ever happened to it?
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!!! Looks like you have added to collection (addiction)...hmmm...only a fellow addict understands!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to display your collection!
ReplyDeleteI like the whole look you have going there BTW!
Linda
You did say you had other collections, and those scissors definitely qualify as a collection! Gotta have enough to sheer all those sheep. LOL. The frog makes a GREAT display. Of course I found myself googling frogs... and I don't have that many scissors. Silly me.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a delightfully wonderful idea - they look great. I understand this addiction - I suffer with the same. Sigh! :-) Where does one get a glass frog?
ReplyDeleteAnd, by the way I love, love, love the box (obviously made by your talented hands) behind the Frog O'Scissors. Beautiful.
Very clever and creative idea! Scissors ARE so addicting :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice idea. So pretty to look at too...another use for scissors...decorating :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your sewing box in the background also. Gorgeous!
Ah, a woman after my own heart. I came across a porcelein flower frog last spring that looks like an artichoke with three tiers. Well, the darned thing is filled up now with scissors, and then I've found about eight different ones. I love how they look in the frog. You can never have enough scissors!!
ReplyDeleteI can't tell what your scissor holder is made of. Is it glass? Whatever, it is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteDid see one of these at my work.. but missed out on buying it...:o( somebody got before me!!! But I dont have as many scissors like you... just two..lol..no three..:o)
ReplyDeleteMmmmmmmmmmmmm, and how many pairs do you really have? LOL, No, really what a great collection and so tastefully displayed. I love the honey tones your photos have. Kaaren, I have finished the last stitchery, sent you an e-mail but not sure if it arrived. Anyway there is a picture of it on my blog.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Kaaren we must be kindred spirits. I am addicted to scissors also. I have almost as many as you, if not as many. LOL! The glass frog is a great way to display them. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteHello :D hello...
ReplyDeleteHi Kaaren, I do love your scissors holder 'thingy'...what a wonderful idea!
Always love the way your display your things...so lovely.
Happy sewing my friend.
Hey, that glass frog is a cool idea to store your scissors.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to use frogs! Very clever, Kaaren.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I also have a collection of scissors so I love...love...love your solution to the display problem!!!
ReplyDeleteI have the same glass frog with scissors. Isn't it the best place to keep them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to display your scissors!!! Congrats on being so ahead on all your projects too...I feel like time is going so fast, and I'm going slower and slower!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to look for a frog, maybe at the local thrift shop. I confess, I've bought two more pair since I fessed up. In my defense, they are small ones with serrated blades which are good for cutting around appliques.
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant idea!!!!! I have very few pair, but I love the ones I have. Good for you on getting all your swaps done - I haven't even thought about Christmas yet!
ReplyDeleteKaaren just a wealth of great ideas and inspiration!! and scissors. If I went seaching through my projects I am sure I would find many.. but not AS many as you have...a great idea thanks
ReplyDeleteKaaren what a brilliant idea! I'm going to go look for a frog for my scissors too - I love that! blessings, marlene

ReplyDeleteoh I wish that I was as organised as you! I am still working on my swap gifts (just a little behind - rather prefer to think of it as not quite on time tho!)Mr Glass Flower Frog is really cute, and so functional and practical!
ReplyDeleteI have quite a few scissors tool but you beat me hands down...........lol
ReplyDeleteScissors call me. Love seeing your stash. Yes, they look wonderful altogether like that.
ReplyDeleteHi Kaaren! My collection are displayed in the same way which I think I have told you before. I never tire of seeing it in my sewing cupboard. I keep all my antique and vintage items together. One advantage to having this collection is that it is small and easy to place somewhere. Loved seeing yours again.
