The rain has finally stopped so I was able to venture out into the backyard this morning with my cup of tea and do my garden tour. Although the sun is still behind the clouds, the color that greeted me was nothing short of breath taking.
The dwarf Korean lilac tree is in full bloom and the intoxicating aroma just seemed to fill the entire yard.
The pink lupines are in full bloom and when they’re spent, the phlox will not be too far behind.
Two of the five, twice-blooming irises in this raised bed are in bloom, as well as these…
I just love irises and with the twice-blooming variety, we get to experience their beauty both in the Spring and Fall.
Perhaps the sun will come out later and the plethora of color will be even more spectacular. Besides, the grass needs cutting and the flower beds need edging.
The splendor of late Spring…amazing!

What a delight. You can get lost looking at all the beauty and not worry about anything. An oasis or tranquility.
Just wonderful...thank you so much for the amazing tour of your yard.
I'm going to google that dwarf Korean lilac tree and see if it will grow in Oklahoma.
I don't think I've ever heard of a dwarf Korean lilac. So pretty. The scent in your garden must be heady. The much needed rain finally arrived this morning. The plants are thankful.
oh yes, definitely breath taking chooky. your hard work pays off indeed.

Thanks for sharing your morning tea time with us. Lovely.
What lovely flower gardens you have & the perfect place to sit and have coffee & admire all the beauty. Thanks for sharing.

Your garden is just beautiful! I would be out there every day just taking it in! LOVINESS! I never knew about twice blooming irises..I'll have to check them out...it may be they won't grow in our short summers here in northern Maine. I have the old fashioned lilics, but love the shape of your Korean ones...did you prune them to be that shape or does that come naturally. I know the old fashioned type has runners galore and never could we have a single stem like that! Bet it's too cold for that variety too...but I'll LOOK!
Splendor is the perfect word to describe your lovely garden!
Absolutely gorgeous!!
Hi Kaaren...your gardens are stunning! I love the little tea cup and saucer! What a beautiful place to take an early morning walk. Enjoy!
Friends,

Your yard is gorgeous! What a wonderful place to escape to!
Beautiful garden. Wish my yard looked like that but alas, I don't have much of a green thumb in the garden.
I love the little dwarf lilac tree, Kaaren! Is it hard for you to resist wanting to paint your garden every time you go out? It really is beautiful!
Cheers!
Your garden is absolutely beautiful. So green compared to my part of Australia. The closest I can get to that is my "Farm" on Facebook.
Kaaren, your garden is wonderful!!
I'd love to wander with you, smelling flowers and sharing your work and delight.
Isn't Spring a great time of year?
Thanks for sharing your beautiful garden.
hugs

You garden beds are so pretty Kaaren. Just like everything you touch, they are treats to behold!!
We just emailed about gardening and now I get to really see some of it. How fun! Your garden is beautiful. I have a separate blog for my home and garden so I don't post photos of it on my needlework blog. You can see it on CelebrateTheSeasons.
Hugs ~
Heidi
