Settling In!

We're making headway, slowly but surely. I can't remember ever being this tired in my entire life. Getting old is the pits!
The majority of our personal and 'house' things have been unpacked and sorted and we're slowly finding a place for everything that we've decided to keep.
We downsized considerably before moving here but until you actually live, breath and sleep in a place, you don't really get a feel for it. Well, we've slept here for eight nights now and we definitely know what's staying and what's going. Bring on the spring yard sales because we're going to have MANY!!!
Of course my sewing room is taking the longest to unpack and set up. I'm taking my time going through each box deciding what I'm going to keep, what I'm going to donate/share and what's going out in the trash. There's lots in each category....trust me!
We haven't hung anything on the walls as yet and that won't happen until we decide if the furniture is going to stay where it is or get moved to a different spot. With every passing day it's beginning to feel a lot more like home and I think we're going to be very happy here.
I'll leave you with one picture and that is of my quilt cabinet.
It was one of the first things that was set up!
Happy stitching!

Glad to see you settling in. Did you end up buying the house that you wrote about? Can't wait to see your decor. It is always so inspiring.

Hope you find happiness in your new home. As a military family, we had many moves over my husband's 34 years of service. Each home presented new challenges, and it didn't get any easier as we got older. Now we have settled down, but head south every winter! Fortunately, it is not like a move, although we fill our van in both directions. I bring my sewing machine and fabric for a few quilt projects to work on over the winter months, but I always seem to find new projects, and have to add some new fabric.
I'm sure your house will feel like home in no time!

You haven't said, how are Ollie and Frankie settling in? A new year is coming upon us and you will be settling in before you know it.

I have just realized that you are one of three blogs in my sidebar who has made a big move this past month! All on different continents, too. Interesting!

It sounds like you are starting to get comfortable in your new place. I hope you can find all your holiday stuff. Merry Christmas!

Nice to have an update from you. 😊 I totally get the tired, feeling too old thing. Moving really takes it out of you. I hope you take it easy, rest up and enjoy the holiday season. It's flying by this year! Merry Christmas and happy new home.

Love the pic of the quilt cabinet! And, love the wood floors and soft colors on the walls... looks like a great place to set up home! :-) I hope you both can get in some good rest soon and enjoy some Christmas! :-)

Perfect right down to the "bless this house" pillow. Glad you rewarded yourself with those fabrics. Could be dangerous living that close to the quilt store. Happy and bless holiday season to you and yours!

Your quilt cabinet is so nice! I'm sure it feels great to get settled a little more each day. Merry Christmas to you, Mr. Painted Quilt, Frankie & Ollie!

Merry Christmas. Enjoy your new home. Remember one ladies trash is another treasure so you might want to have a freebie section at your yard sales instead throwing it in the trash, LOL!
I see many 20 minute road trips in your future!

I love your stories you put on here, and hope you love your new home. Do you think you would have some kind of online sale of your scraps? I like to get them for my Grandaughters to learn with.
