I am so sorry to hear about Mac, they are so much a part of our lives. My guy is getting older too and on meds and so far he is doing better, but we enjoy each moment, knowing that he can go at anytime.

Hi Kaaren, while I read your blog, but do not leave comments, because my English is not very good, now I see that your pet is to ido, and therefore I feel sad, I love animals, I have several pets, dogs, cats, turtles, including chickens, but my favorites, who are home with me, are a small and cute Theodora Yorshire dog, and Baldomero, a cat of which Spain called "turtle" for the drawing that makes its hair, I feel terrible if one of them missing me, whether I can imagine how you feel, animals make us better people, receives a warm hug from Toledo (Spain) and forgives the English, which is not very good.

Last April I had to say good bye to my little dog baby. It still hurts, but I have adopted another furry one from the animal shelter. He is the sweetest dog I have ever owned and I have a feeling of satisfaction knowing I rescued him from what very well might have been a less than happy existence. I would advise you to adopt another dog just as soon as your heart can handle it; he/she will love you unconditionally and make your and Mr. Painted Quilt's lives happier. I'm sorry for your loss.

My heart breaks for you and your loss. As a former teacher, my favorite book to send home with children who had lost their dog was called Dog Heaven by Cynthia Rylant. That's where Mac is now, running like a puppy again.

Such comfort you must get knowing you have so many friends to be beside you at this time of grief. Yes, the Rainbow Bridge is filled with so many furry companions. We just sent our beloved Lily Beth (a 12.5 year old Old English Sheepdog with hip dysplasia) there on February 29, an easy date to remember. But one can't always pick a date for such an event. Ours was put to sleep by our vet in our home with friends nearby to give her a joyous farewell. We still grieve for her. But she's joined our other pets and we still have 2 more left who are still young, Rosebud and Wizard. Hugs and love to you both!
Kaaren, i am just catching up and so sorry to read of poor Max. I know it is heart wrenching we loss our best pal. I wish I can say something to make it all better do know I am there in spirit for a little comfort.
It's very early here on a Sunday morning and I'm just catching up on reading my blog list. I'm so sorry to read about Mac, I wasn't expecting this at all. I know how heartwrenching loosing a very loved fur baby can be, how heartbreaking, no words can make it better......and it'll hurt for a while that I do know, I wish I could give you a big hug Kaaren, so sad, so very very sad........ their lives are so short and our love for them runs so deep.......
My condolences on the lost of a great friend. It's so hard to say good-bye to them, and so hard to get through those first days, weeks, when we expect to see them, hear them, feel them and then we remember. I'm very sorry for your Loss. Their little furry lives are so short compared to ours. IMHO, Mac is where he always was...watching over you both, like a Guardian Angel. i hope i'm at the Bridge when you're reunited with Mac. i have a few beloved furry Ones there also. -a horse, 2 Bernese Mtn.Dogs, 1 Newfoundland, 2 Basset Hounds, a giant Guinea pig, & other dogs clear back to a little black love when i was a child 55 years ago! Mac can be near you and in Heaven at the same time because the Veil is really a thin Film :) Love and healing prayers for you both. i hope you can always feel how closeby Mac is.

ReplyDeleteOh Kaaren! I just haven't had much time even getting to blogs because of things going on with my sister and folks and life in general, and then when I tried to, blogger wouldn't let me. I finally realized it was a new security setting on my computer - not blogger. So I scanned the most recent posts in reader and saw your title and my heart sank! I am so so sorry for your loss. I know Mac was a big part of your lives. Sending many hugs of comfort across the miles!

ReplyDeleteOh, Kaaren, I was so upset when I saw that Mac had passed...I always looked forward to seeing his picture on your blog...I am partial to Westies since I have one, as well, Molly, who is 10.5 years old...such a loss as they are a wonderful dog...I am sorry for your loss....

ReplyDeleteMy heart breaks for you and your loss. As a former teacher, my favorite book to send home with children who had lost their dog was called Dog Heaven by Cynthia Rylant. That's where Mac is now, running like a puppy again.

Such comfort you must get knowing you have so many friends to be beside you at this time of grief. Yes, the Rainbow Bridge is filled with so many furry companions. We just sent our beloved Lily Beth (a 12.5 year old Old English Sheepdog with hip dysplasia) there on February 29, an easy date to remember. But one can't always pick a date for such an event. Ours was put to sleep by our vet in our home with friends nearby to give her a joyous farewell. We still grieve for her. But she's joined our other pets and we still have 2 more left who are still young, Rosebud and Wizard. Hugs and love to you both!

It's very early here on a Sunday morning and I'm just catching up on reading my blog list. I'm so sorry to read about Mac, I wasn't expecting this at all. I know how heartwrenching loosing a very loved fur baby can be, how heartbreaking, no words can make it better......and it'll hurt for a while that I do know, I wish I could give you a big hug Kaaren, so sad, so very very sad........

My condolences on the lost of a great friend. It's so hard to say good-bye to them, and so hard to get through those first days, weeks, when we expect to see them, hear them, feel them and then we remember.
ReplyDeleteWe said good-bye to our beautiful long haired cat on March 26 and to his sweet brother 3 years ago in February. . I'm still wiping away my tears. Hugs to you both.

So sorry for the lost of Mac he was a beautiful little dog.Iknow it is hard. We lost our bassett in the early spring and it take a whileto get over it. God be with you and your.

I'm very sorry for your Loss. Their little furry lives are so short compared to ours. IMHO, Mac is where he always was...watching over you both, like a Guardian Angel. i hope i'm at the Bridge when you're reunited with Mac. i have a few beloved furry Ones there also. -a horse, 2 Bernese Mtn.Dogs, 1 Newfoundland, 2 Basset Hounds, a giant Guinea pig, & other dogs clear back to a little black love when i was a child 55 years ago! Mac can be near you and in Heaven at the same time because the Veil is really a thin Film :) Love and healing prayers for you both. i hope you can always feel how closeby Mac is.
