It has been brought to my attention that there are two errors in my instructions for Blocks 7, 8 and 9. Horrors! That’s what happens when you don’t have anyone to proofread your patterns.
The corrections are as follows…
The squares for the hst’s (half square triangles) for Blocks 7 and 8 should be cut at 4 7/8”…not 2 7/8” as was written in the original instructions.
Also, the red rectangle in Block 7 should be cut at 8 1/2” x 4 1/2”…not 8 1/2” x 2 1/2”.
I will be correcting the PDF file to reflect these changes as soon as I can.
Edit: The corrections have been made to the PDF file which you can access HERE as well as in the original post.
Please accept my sincere and humble apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have already cut out the pieces, perhaps you can incorporate them into a label when you have finished the quilt.
I’m now going to hide and sulk in a corner…but not until I finish the last step on next month’s FFF (First Friday Freebie).
Dear dear Kaaren - don't be so hard on yourself. Ooopies happen!!!
We'll all make the corrections and adjustments and move on. :-)
I always told my children that mistakes are learning tools and that things are not always perfect.....besides what is a little square of fabric. Have a great day.
I love what Sandy said do not hide my goodness things happen!! have a great day
You are so sweet and giving and just did a huge move and all of the changes I am impressed that you can still do the patterns at all. :) I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the wonderful things I use from your freebies and your blocks and I have learned so much. So don't be so hard on yourself. You have a very full plate.
Thank you from me.
Kind and generous Kaaren, it's just a typo! Thanks for ALL of your great patterns etc.!
Everyone makes mistakes....that's what makes us human...hold your head high Kaaren...you are sEw generous and giving. Thanks for sharing... you are sEw talented....luv your work. Still what to start a wool project. Do you felt your wool? Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated.
I have always wanted to do a Raggedy Ann and Andy quilt that you for the pattern. Everybody makes mistakes if you didn't you wouldn't be human.
Oh Kaaren, mistakes happen, there is much much worse, make you not even bother. Greetings from Germany to you, all love. Christine
Oh sweetie don't you worry about it - it happens!! It's such a darling pattern and I'm just so thankful you're sharing it!
Be honest... you were just wanting to know how many of us have actually started on our quilts to have noticed...lol... Happy crafting, Jenny :)
I love this quilt!! NO worries at all...it is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!
Well, I am way behind in the game; and not piecing as I go so it didn't affect me; but I wouldn't hide in a corner...things happen...and you are so kind to do this for free as it is!
Ohh Kareen!!! Please don´t be so hard on yourself!!
You are very generous sharing your patterns with us!!! We all know mistakes happen.
Hugs from Argentina!!
Not to worry, we all make mistakes, and you picked up on yours very quickly. Some books are out for quite awhile before the mistake is found. We just carry on now. You have had so much on your mind for the last two months, you've done well to keep us so up to date. It's hard to believe with what you have already accomplished, that you only moved two months ago. Always look forward to hearing from you.
I wouldn't worry about it. You are so kind to share all of this!
Don't beat yourself up over this. I am just thankful for the work you have put into this and willing to share with the Blog world. I just finished block 7,8 and 9 and have it all pieced. Have also put it on your Flicker site.
Hi, Kaaren, I've been away on an extended internetless camping trip and have a little catching up to do. How nice that someone saw the mistakes so quickly and they have been corrected - before I even had a chance to download the pattern! Don't despair, we do the best we can, and in your case, that's over and above as it is!! Look at all you do and tell me that a little mistake once in awhile isn't ok!! Have fun peeling back the layers of your fine old house and discovering treasures! (and I hope not Pandora's Box)~karen
