"Stopped Me in my Tracks" - Update

Like I said, it's not a race.

I'm taking my time and am thoroughly enjoying the journey.

If I decide to make the larger size which will finish at 102" x 88", then I'm halfway done.  I've completed and sewn together three of the six rows and am ready to join the five checkerboard squares for the fourth row.  If I don't poop out, tonight I'll start piecing the nine patch cornerstone blocks for the next couple of sashing rows.

My goal is to have the flimsy done by the end of the weekend, even though we'll be out tomorrow and Saturday.

Then it'll be back to my Brinton Hall quilt (which you can see in the photo below just languishing in the background) and some much missed handwork.

So how is yours coming along?

Happy stitching!

  4. Beautiful! I bought my fabric on Wednesday,, and hope to do some serious sewing over the weekend. It's been a busy week, and I'm anxious to spend some quality time with my sewing machine.

  5. Love the quilt. I cut my yellow but am waiting for the white to arrive. Gardening work has begun so I am trying to juggle the sewing and the gardening. Have a wonderful day.

  8. So I don't read blogs as often as I used to but check in occasionally. Love seeing your new quilt. Funny thing, I've almost finished the top of a very similar pattern. My sashing is red and the squares are all colors, cornerstones are also all colors but 3 1/2" squares. It was also one of those "love at first sight" type of quilts. Simple but very "me" I guess. Probably the red that caught my eye first. It's been a fun quilt to make and since I wanted it scrappy I did not strip piece the blocks. It will be a king when I'm finished. Love watching your progress. Will try to look in more often!
