I absolutely L-O-V-E it and it's everything and more than I thought it would be...simply stated, serene, calming colors and beautiful in it's "less is more" elegance. Thank you all for lighting the fire that convinced me to do a quilt-a-long now rather than later.
As you can see from the photo below, it's a large quilt. I decided to stop at 5 rows x 5 rows making it finish at 88" x 88". That's plenty large for our queen size bed. There's ample drop on both sides and at the foot of the bed and my personal preference is to not have a quilt with pillows rolled under it like a bedspread. This is the main reason why I stopped at 5 sections or rows. If you like that look, then by all means add the 6th row!
If this is your first time here or if you missed my original post and you'd like to make this quilt, just click HERE for the link which will take you to a downloadable PDF file with the instructions and grid layout.
And how are you making out with yours?
Remember, it's not a race and I hope that you're all enjoying your journey making yours as much as I did mine.
Happy stitching!

oh and congratulaions Carol for winning the give away!
The flimsy looks so good. Not much progress here but it is gardening time so I have been outside. Thanks for the instructions.
So traditional and simple! I love your colors! A summery cheerful coverlet for the warm season! Well done!
Stunning!!!
Still waiting for the fabric....Your quilt is absolutely GORGEOUS! Love it!! Was the 4 yards enough (yellow fabric)?? Did you have any fabric left?
The simple designs still speak to me the loudest. This is lovely!
Your top is absolutely lovely! I haven't even pulled fabrics from the stash for this one, but it is a high priority as soon as I finish at least one of the several I'm currently working on. Looking forward to seeing how you decide to quilt this.
Love it. As usual your work and designs are lovely
This is so beautiful. Great work. I'm sure you are dreaming of how you will now quilt it...
I'd love to make this, it's on the list. Thanks
I LOVE it!! And thanks for sharing the link again to print the instructions, as I did miss it before!
Happy Stitching!
Very pretty . . . I like simple two color quilts. They have such a fresh look to them :)
Lovely, just lovely.
Precioso, me gusta mucho. Un beso.
Beautiful Kaaren
It's a beautiful quilt. Thanks so much for sharing the experience with us. It's next up on my to do list.
Your quilt is beautiful! I want to make one just like it. I love the color. Hugs,
I bought yellow with white polka dots today and will get my white on Friday. I think I'm going to do 4x5 and see if that will be long enough. I have draws on the side and don't want the quilt hanging in the way. I'm making this a summer quilt, using flannel for my batting. Can't wait to start on this.
Beautiful! Thanks for the inspiration!
Looks spectacular!
Oh wow! It's just beautiful!!!! Great Job!!!
Wow, that was fast. And your quilt is just plain gorgeous! I love it.
Beautiful! Just wait until its quilted!!
Tão simples e tão bonita, ficou muito bem em sua cama,e VC fez bem rápido.
Wow - that seemed to go together really fast! And it's absolutely timeless! Love it!
A genuine beauty Kaaren - love it!
It's certainly charming in its simplicity. Love this one. Will you use straight line quilting?
Your quilt is awesome and has inspired me to work on one I have been thinking about making..Maybe work on it this fall and hopefully we will be moved and setteled in soon so I can get my sewing and crafts organized
It's so beautiful in its simplicity! I like the two colors choice!
You are so right that this quilt is the epitome of elegance. I just love it. And of course your stitching is immaculate. You are so kind, Kaaren, to share the whole process.
Hi Karen,
I finished my flimsy today. Yahoo!! It was a joy to work on. I've posted pictures on my blog http://qiwc.blogspot.com. Thank you so much for sharing this with your readers. I loved every minute of putting this together and look forward to many hours of pleasure while quilting it.
This is a beautiful quilt. Thanks so much for sharing this design. I have not started but have put this on my too do soon list and am looking for my fabric for the project.
This quilt/flimsy turned out wonderful! I want to buy fabric to make a queen size as well. How much yardage did our end up needing for both the yellow and white?
How many yards of fabric for each color did you get and how are you going to quilt it. It has been said before but it is so true the simplicity of it makes it beautiful.
Love your quilt! Simple equals Beautiful!! Never tire of the old, simple traditional patterns.
Beautiful my friend.
It's gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful and timeless quilt! ;)
How is it that this is such a simple design and yet so gloriously beautiful--it stops me in MY tracks for sure...hugs, Julierose
It's wonderful, Kaaren!!
