Yesterday, I sent off my project for the Winter 2016 issue of Primitive Quilts & Projects magazine, two weeks ahead of my May 1st deadline. Whew! I'm thrilled with the way it turned out and I hope that you'll like it as well!
The binding for my school houses quilt is prepped and ready, just waiting for it's return from my longarmer friend Alice who does most of my quilts.
And rather than start on a new project, I decided to move on to the next step of my Brinton Hall quilt which is to add the perimeter hexies to square off the center medallion block.
Here's a photo from the Quiltmania magazine which shows the center medallion quite well. I'm referring to the large square within the first turquoise border.
Mindless but fun sewing which is exactly what I need right now.
My goal is to finish this step by Friday.
When working on projects, I seem to work best when I set myself short, reachable goals. In that way, long, arduous and even boring tasks seem so much less daunting and I get the sense that I'm accomplishing something.
Do you play the same mind games with yourself?
Happy stitching!

Oh how lovely! I am so glad you are having "me" sewing time with no (or at least less) pain! Yes, I set mini goals, but rarely attain them because new plans keep interrupting them. I know I am hopeless, but it is so much fun! I finish all the ones I like and make lots of UFO donation of the ones I know I won't finish. Thanks for sharing.
Oh I do love those houses! Nice to see that roll of binding all ready to go! Glad you're having some" me" time...those hexies will keep you busy!
I love the sneaky little picture of your hexie project ... love the fabrics! Can't wait to see the finished project!
You have some lovely things in the works. Can't wait to see your next PQ&P entry.
I do set little goals for myself. I can't fathom doing a bazillion of anything at a time. I take it 10 or 20 at a time and reward myself with doing something a little more fun each time I complete a goal.
Vos maisons sont superbes, toutes mes félicitations. Le débuts des hexagones est bien prometteur,j'adore.Prompt rétablissement.Bonne continuation.amicalement Gisele
Good news to read today! I have too many goals...then I feel paralyzed and can't seem to get as much done as I thought I would. This just doesn't apply to quilting either! LOL
Lovely house blocks and beautiful new fabrics. I think everyone plays mindgames with themselves.
