Good Morning!

What do you do when you wake up at 4 a.m.?
Put the coffee on...
Make a stew to simmer in the slow cooker all day...
And listen to/watch the Olympics on TV.
Isn't this how you all start your day?  *wink*

Dinner will be ready about 4 p.m., just in time for when the next snow storm is due to arrive.  Are ya comin?  If it gets too bad, we can always put you up for the night!

Happy stitching!

  1. Been happening to me a lot lately - up by 5 always, sometimes at 4. Since I hand quilt my quilts, I have something to work on, but only after coffee. Today, I have to get ready to go to my yurt to get it ready for a weekend rental, so no quilting until I get there and I warm it up.

Storm not coming until 4:00? You must be in northern Maine?

  11. At that hour I grab a book, go to my recliner, and read until I doze off again. If that doesn't happen, I get up and sew!
Hmmm, maybe I need to put a stew in the oven this morning. Don't think I can make it to your house in time for dinner. : )

  13. The stew looks so yummy. I have angel chicken in the crockpot right now. We have some pretty strong winds here - hard to see the fish houses on the lake. Good day to stay hunkered down and stitch don't ya think :).

  23. I'm up that early every day and unfortunately, this time of year, my day starts with me outside shoveling snow.

Your coffee and soup look great. I'll be right over -- as soon as I've finished shoveling us out again.

  24. That looks so good, I can smell it all the way here in NY. We've been having ugly weather all day and expect more snow tonight. With all the snow this winter, I feel as though I might as well be living up north in Canada.

  25. like you I am an early riser, kettle goes on, after layers of clothing and 2 pairs of socks to keep me warm then I get on with the blogging, sometimes can take a couple of hours to see what everyone has done and try to comment on most posts. Can now picture others up early, nice to know there are a few of us up and about so early

  26. Dear Karen,

you are so right about waking up at 4 am.
Coffee, olympics and I usually start to handsew or stitch, so I can play a little with my "toys" before going to work.
    Greetings,
    Sylvia

  29. Up in north western NB we were supposed to get 14 inches, so far we've had about 5. No school today (although daughters friend had to call our house early this morning, "just to check" when I was enjoying my sleep). Stew looks good, I should make something like that for tomorrow! yummy! Happy sewing!
