Not only does it afford me the time to reflect upon the journey I travelled while making the quilt but also to embrace the peace that I experience whenever I have a needle between my fingers.
Safe Harbor II...stay tuned for the reveal!
Happy stitching!

Ooh, can't wait for the reveal! I've been working on bindings all weekend, and I love the process, too.
I'm doing a binding too--very slowly. Love your backing fabric!

So beautifully said...there is indeed peace that comes as we piece--especially with hand work!
Kaaren... I LoVe the backing on this quilt. I agree... it does take a long time to sew down the binding, but it is so relaxing.
Oh, aren't you the tease? : )
Agree... binding a quilt is a great relaxer. Looking forward to the big reveal!
Wow, what beautiful backing...can't wait to see the front!
I'm waiting on pins and needles for this reveal!!
That's a favorite part of the process to me as well. Lovely meditation.
I have to agree!! I do love that last bit of handsewing on a quilt, and yes the mind does wander, good 'thinking time'!!!! I also love to have some gentle quiet classical music in the background too....Look forward to seeing your finished quilt!!!!
Can't wait to see it ;-)
Just love the backing and can hardly wait to see the front. I am waiting for my quilter to send my 2 finished quilts next week and do the binding. It must also feel terrific, especially with all your positive health news lately. Continue to enjoy the quilting process and all the joy that it brings you. Also Kaaren, thank you for the new First Friday of the month pattern. It is a real beauty and I am hoping for some spare time in the future to sew this Christmas gem. As always, be well and keep happy. Bev
What a tease! LOL Can't wait to see the reveal. The backing is beautiful!
Oh! Oh! Oh! LOVE that backing fabric! I'm still quilting a sailboats quilt for my youngest grandson and that backing would have been SEW perfect! Instead he gets flannel dots and stars. Cozy but not the "perfect" backing for a sailboat themed quilt.
What a great backing for Safe Harbor!! I love it.
Binding is the best part.
Kaaren - I too love the binding process!! It says so many things about me - I finished a project, I love the peace I have while binding, and I am with you - I love the feel of the needle in my hand!! Can't wait to see the reveal!! :-))
I too love switching my brain to the peaceful mode when I have a needle and thread in my hand to stitching the binding. happy stitching, stay snug.
look forward to seeing this complete, a fully reverseable quilt with such a lovely backing

I, too, feel peace when I have a needle between my fingers. Thank for articulating it so well.
My sentiments, exactly, Kaaren!

I'm intrigued Kaaren! Love the backing fabric...
I too find handstitching my bindings very peaceful. As a matter of fact, I have two quilts waiting for my attention now. Hope to finish them soon.

Can't wait for the showing. I love your backing.
The PERFECT fabric for this gorgeous quilt!! Can't wait to see the reveal!

I really enjoy hand finishing the binding. Almost feel sad when I put the last stitches in the binding and label. Not sad for very long though. Beautiful, perfect backing!
I love your backing fabric. At some point did you share what fabric that is?
