Shopping Therapy!

It's been a while since I did some serious, quilting-related shopping.  Well I certainly put an end to that yesterday!

After we dropped Ollie off at the doggie beauty shop, Mr. Painted Quilt played chauffeur and took me to several of my favorite shops.

I shopped...

and shopped...

and shopped some more.

Would you be able to pass these by?

Me either!

And what about these?

And look what was waiting for me in our mail box when we arrived back at home.  This glorious fat quarter bundle of Mid Winter Reds by Minick & Simpson for Moda arrived in my mailbox yesterday as well.

I have the P-E-R-F-E-C-T project in mind for them.

These patterns arrived earlier in the week.  I just love Silver Thimble designs.

My friend Darlene's new quilt shop opened today.  She gifted me with this Moda bag which will see a lot of use in the upcoming months as I travel back and forth to her shop for some "sit-and-sew" sessions with sewing friends.

Because she has been so busy working at getting her shop ready to open, I am making this little wool pincushion sample for one of her upcoming workshops.

Here's Ollie today...the day after his beauty treatment.  He's grubby already!

I tried to stay clean...honest!
And look what the groomer gave him...a red crystal earring!

We just about freaked until she told us that it was affixed with a non-toxic children's glue and will probably fall off in a couple of days.

Pretty spiffy, huh?

Happy stitching!

You'll be sewing up a storm inside while the storm rages outside, Kaaren! Ollie is one cool dude with his boy earring!
Cheers!

I don't know which I like the most Ollie's earring or your fabrics. LOL.

Really do like the fabrics. Daisy is waving hi at Ollie.

What fun you've had. Can't wait to see the end results of this spree. Ollie is always adorable no matter what.

The fabrics are lovely.Patting and stroking them is therapy in itself let alone the wonderful colours. Loved Ollie's earring, adorable. We had a poodle and when he was groomed came back looking so beautiful with green bows above his lovely long ears. Didn't matter that he was a boy.The looks he gave us when we arrived to bring him home cracked me up, the desperateness of "get these stupid things out of my hair" look. We didn't take them out, he shook and shook his head'til they fell out. Will always remember that.Shirley N.Z.

I could use you as my personal shopper, for sure!! You know how to find the goodies! : )
I actually have that little pincushion kit, just haven't got it made, yet.
Oh, Ollie is stunning bejeweled. That is too funny!

Ollie's story made me giggle! We had a cat who would pick up fleas in the summer when we would go to our cottage. I would have to give him a flea bath. He was very good about letting me bathe him although he looked like a drowned rat. Afterwards we would towel dry him and fluff his fur a bit. He would be so pretty - orange and white tabby. The kids would let him outside where he would promptly roll in the dirt and be absolutely filthy! grrr... The kids thought it was hysterical but the dang cat did it every single time!

A little bit of fabric acquisition is always good for a quilter's soul!!!!! I especially like the fabric with the feathers on it in the first photo - you couldn't tell me what line that comes from?
Ollie always looks very cute after he's been to the beauty parlor! Love the little pincushion project too, one day I'll have to try wool applique, I love the results and extra embellishments people do on them!! Have a lovely weekend!!!!!

Kaaren: Thanks for the pictures of Ollie with your fabric addiction. After following your blog for the past couple of years and being without a dog for the past year, you and Ollie were an encouragement to adopt a rescue Westie about a month ago. She is 4 years old and truly a wonderful addition for us. Monday she will get her beauty treatment. Enjoy your weekend and thanks again for all you do. I love your blog.

fabric shopping is the best therapy and you got some beautiful fabrics and patterns. I do have some of the blue minis, will be fun to make a doll quilt with. I love the snowman and stars pincushion, still have left over money so I will see if they have that in the ebay shop.

Hi Kaaren, Hope you are feeling better each and every day. I love your fabrics. What beautiful colors that go together so well, I keep wondering what pattern you will use. Well, I will just have to wait and see. Have fun and enjoy all of your sewing.

Did you know that I received a brand new sewing machine last spring and have hardly used it because I had a "trigger thumb" on my right hand and now I have it on my left thumb. Another surgery again next Friday.

Have a spectacular weekend!

You pick the loveliest fabrics and such fun patterns, I wish I lived nearer to your quilt shop as it is just my style. Love the snowman pin cushion, such fun and very useful although I'm not sure I could put pins in it. Glad to hear you had a fun shopping day. Ollie is sew sweet.

Whoo hoo love all your fabric choices and can't wait to see the finished projects unfold.

I would freak over that earring too. But oh so cute especially knowing it isn't permanent.

I think you outdid yourself in the shopping department. I love everything, and I know you'll have fun cutting into those fabulous Midwinter Reds. I've certainly been tempted to buy that collection, but there are so many others that I also want. What's a quilter to do. Really, I should shop my own stash.

Know you'll have fun with all your purchases. Love the Midwinter Red collection. Did buy a charm pack of it, but haven't used it yet. So many projects in mind--so little time.
