Label Info…etc.

Happy New Year everyone!   May all your seams be straight and a perfect 1/4”.

New Year Postcard

At the outset, please allow me to thank you all for your encouragement as well as your thoughts and prayers with respect to my health issues. I am overwhelmed by your support and can’t begin to express how much your words and comments mean to me. Each and every one of you play a huge part in keeping my spirits high.

You already know it but let me remind you one more time…you all rock!!!

Last evening, Mac and Frankie curled up in front of the fire in the kitchen as Mr. Painted Quilt and I watched the Canadians take on the Americans in the World Junior hockey tournament.

Having lived in both countries for half my life, it’s difficult for me to declare a favorite but if the truth be known, I guess the scales are tipped a little to the side of the red and white.  It was a close game and the final score was Canada 3, USA 2.

There has been a lot of buzz around blogland in the last few days about the free mystery quilt called the 12 Days of Christmas offered by the Temecula Quilt Co.  It started on Christmas Day and a new block is presented on each of the 12 days of Christmas.

I hemmed and hawed but yesterday I joined in and caught up by making the first seven blocks.  Each one finishes at 3 1/2” and works up very quickly.  It only took about an hour to cut out and piece the seven blocks.  I was looking for something small and uncomplicated to sew during the holidays and this has turned out to be the perfect project.

It’s not too late to join in.  Check it out by clicking on the link above and it’ll take you to the Temecula Quilt Co. blog.  The eighth block will be released later today.

On my last post, I wrote about the personalized cotton twill labels that I recently purchased.  Many of you asked if I would share the source.

Of course I will!

Just click HERE and you will be magically transported to MommieMadeIt’s Etsy shop.   I am really pleased with the quality, service and price and they sure beat having to make my own labels!

I gave Lisa the head’s up that some of you might be stopping by and she’s ready for you.  *wink*

I was resisting the Temecula project but you've sold me. Only a hour to catch up? Even I can handle that. I hope 2012 is a healthy year for you. Keep posting pictures of your beautiful home. Your property is a little slice of heaven.

That's cool that you're joining the Temecula Quilt Co. mini mystery. I'm having fun with doing the little blocks. I'm using Blueberry Crumb Cake fabric. Thanks so much for the info on the labels, I placed an order.

Hi Kaaren....I ♥ your blog with all your inspiration and info. My New Years resolution is to leave more comments....that is one of my many resolutions. I too have lived in the USA for over 10 years living in Ohio in the late '70's for about a year and the last 10 years in Tennessee and Michigan. Our green card is good till April 2016.....and by then we will be back in Ontario. I must admit I was cheering for Canada and they tried hard to make the last period an exciting one. I'm a goalie's mom and many a time I just can't watch.

Thanks for the label info and I am going to do the 12 Days of Christmas offered at Temecula Quilts....added them as a follower. I just noticed that Woolie Mammoth follows them too. ♥ the wool giveaway over at the Woolie Mammoth....she hasn't posted a winner yet, still may have time to enter....Anna is hoping for 300 followers.

Wishing you the best as you face the next step to good health... you will be in the thoughts and prayers of many as you start your fight...your fight to win. This will be year 13 for my son to be cancer free...after surgery and chemo he beat those aggressive cancer cells that challenged him when he was only 23. Lots of hugs and prayers for you. Pauline

Of course we are all thinking of you! What a wonderful person you have been to all of us, too!

Made my 7th block last night. Maybe it was too late but mine just didn't turn out the right size at all. It was too wide by 1/4 inch. Probably my seams. Maybe another go at it today.

Thanks for the link!!

The 12 Days mini quilt project has been a great little bit of sewing during the 'hectic' season. I have been told that a kitchen is the hub of the house and reflects it's owner(s) - warm, inviting, relaxing, come sit and share is what I see in yours. A Blessed 2012.

You are so loved Kaaren, so many folks cheering you on - I know you're going to make it through this just fine!

I'm not allowed to watch hockey. Of course the Detroit Red Wings are my favorite team of all time, but every time I even catch a glimpse of a game, they get scored on...I've been banned. :(

Thanks for the link to where you got your labels, I added her to my favorites so I don't lose her. Your new little quilt blocks are looking marvelous!

Kaaren, we do not know each other, but I wanted you to know that you are in my prayers. I am a 5 year Breast Cancer survivor, so I understand what your fears and concerns are. You are a lovely woman, and I can tell that you are surrounded by loving people who are encouraging you through this. May this new year be good to all of us! My love to you..diannemitzel1@hotmail.com

I would love to have labels made if I could just make sure how I want them printed. I thought about the 12 days of Christmas but probably wouldn't stick with it so no sense in fooling myself. Made 28 quilts last year and the word quilt is like a swear word in our house now. I Love the picture of you kitty and cute little doggie. I do have a soft spot for dogs and cats, If I was rich and had a huge house I would have a no kill shelter :)...Maybe some day
