Wool Crazy Round Robin…The Finale!

My baby has found it’s way home.  Actually, it’s been home for about a week but I’ve been playing with it on and off during that time adding the last finishing touches and I finally finished it this morning.

This is how it started out.  I created the base, appliquéd the crow and then sent it on to Karen.

Karen added her magic by creating the pumpkin tree…

and then sent it on to Paulette who continued with the Autumn theme.  Isn’t this scarecrow to die for?

WCRR 3

Paulette then sent it on to Lori, the last stop in the round robin before coming home.  Lori added a darling black cat sitting in a pumpkin surrounded by acorns and oak leaves.

The round robin for my pincushion base was now complete.  All four participants including myself had contributed to the design.  Lori then returned it to me to finish.

After adding some additional elements and fancy stitching to fill in some of the open spaces, I completed it this morning by creating a pocket to stuff with crushed walnut shells then blanket stitched around the perimeter to seal it closed.

Ta da!  May I present my round robin pincushion!

Don’t you just it?

I can’t tell you how much fun this was.  The four of us were committed to getting the job done and in a timely manner.  I now have a one-of-a-kind pincushion that combines the talents of three dear friends and fellow ‘wool crazy buddies’.  Thank you so much Karen, Paulette and Lori…from the bottom of my

Happy stitching!

  2. Kaaren it is just great! I've got mine back but we still have to get others back to their owners.

The two I've seen of ours are adorable. Can't wait to post a picture of our tops and then the finished projects.

You've been very inspirational in aiding in some of my design ideas. Thank you

  8. Oh, a good finish for sure! I have not worked on mine. I put my wool away because it was on the guest room bed and company is coming. Still, I may poke around and find a couple small pieces to add to my squirrel area so I can finish mine.

  38. Oh Kaaren!
As you know, I am a total beginner at this "stitching stuff". I am a hooker at heart! After seeing this glorious pincushion, I had to actually print out a copy of the finished item, just so I could see the tiny stitches and detail in it. OH MY GOSH - this is absolutely a treasure! Each tiny little venue is better than the one next to it. It's like reading a wonderful book and each divine chapter is printed on the same page. So beautiful! I am speechless.......and you know this doesn't happen often!

  39. All of the pincushions are so cute. I like your finishing touches. The crazy quilt wool look is so nice, I would love to do that sometime if I could figure out how to do it and find a place to get scraps of wool as well.
