How many of you remember poodle skirts, bobby socks and saddle shoes?
If that’s too far back for you, then how about Jimmy Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Peter,Paul and Mary or Bob Dylan?
What about Woodstock, Haight-Ashbury or the Village in New York?
I know I’m really dating myself, but those were the “good old days”…the days that had a direct influence on who I was then…
And do you remember go-go boots and the disco era of the 70’s? I do. Funny thing though…I was never into go-go boots then.
But times change and so do tastes. I’ve mellowed a lot since then. Now, I’m into Go Go of a different kind.
This kind…
An Accuquilt Go machine!
I found out this morning that I am the lucky winner of an Accuquilt Go machine in the giveaway that Cindy had on her blog! The best giveaway ever…a superb product and a one day giveaway with no strings attached. My kind of giveaway!
Thank you Cindy and thank you to the amazing people at the Accuquilt company for their generosity and support to our industry.
I can’t wait to get GO-ing!
Kaaren ♥
I can relate.... that's my era. I did have GoGo boots in 5th grade (mid 60s). LOL
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you won the Accuquilt machine. I'm sure you will have great fun with it.
I am "sew" delighted for you!! I know you will have some fun projects for us to see, Sandy
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Kaaren on your win. I'm glad someone so creative and generous was a winner! I'll be interested in seeing what you do with your GO.
ReplyDeleteYippee for you! I happened to have a pair of black Go Go boots and thought I was pretty cool prancing around to Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots are Made for Walking." Might bust a hip today if I tried it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a win! Seems like a lot of them are being given away right now. Have fun with this new toy!
ReplyDeleteI can definitely relate! I did have go-go boots. LOL
ReplyDeleteI was thrilled to hear that you won a GO! I can't wait to see the results of your 'playtime'. LOL
Kaaren, I am so happy for you. You are very deserving of the BIG WIN. Also, I well remember the hot pants and go go boots.
ReplyDeleteYIKES - I remember the DAYS...
ReplyDeleteYeap, I had the GO GO boots, the hot pants, then came BIG BIG bell bottoms - had those too.
THEN - do you all remember the Men's Leisure, polyester Suits? Oh my word, I'm really aging myself.
But, hey, it's fun.
And, Kaaren, you'll find the GO to be FUN too. DD, DIL, GD and I are all having fun coming up with ideas on how to use the GO.
I'm sure you'll have beauties to share in no time.
Congratulations, Kaaren another great winner!!! You so deserve it, enjoy, and now go be Goldie or Petula (how many remember her?!) in their gogo boots doing the GO! GO! dance!
ReplyDeleteWoohooo! What fun you'll have with the GO! Ah, Go-Go boots...the memories! With black fishnet stockings and love beads! Been there, done it! ;-))))
ReplyDeleteI remember all those things - I can remember getting a pair of go-go boots. That was a real thrill for me because I had to wear saddle shoes until I was in 6th grade because I had flat feet.
ReplyDeleteLucky you for winning the Accuquilt. I'm so jealous. I hope that you have a lot of fun with it and post pictures of what you do.
I have lots of fond memories of many of those things! Thanks for the reminder. What a nice thing to think about while I sew today. CONGRATULATIONS on being the winner for such a wonderful prize. Have lots and lots of fun. ~karen

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your win, that is fantastic! I had Go-Go- boots, got them for Christmas when I was in high school. I loved them. I had a really "cool" dress to wear them with, too. I turned 60 this year, but I remember like it was yesterday.

ReplyDeleteGood for you Kaaren!
ReplyDeleteLucky you. I wore go go boots and mini skirts. I I ironed my hair so that it would be straight.
ReplyDeleteWell Kaaren, I remember all of the things you listed...too well! LOL Like my friend says about the 60's and 70's "You can read about it, you can watch movies about it and documentarys about it, but if you didn't live through that time, you will never understand the changes that were brought about purely by the events that took place during that era." So very true.
ReplyDeleteNow, let's get to the really good stuff, I am so excited for you that you won a GO! giveaway. Congratulations! I take my hat off to all the great bloggers hosting these GO! giveaways because the volumn of participants is HUGE. Also, to Accuquilt for their generosity. What a great way to get their products out there! I know I would love for one to come my way. Since I can't seem to win one I really do get especially excited when someone I 'know' does! I can't wait to read your reviews on how you like it. Good times!!! Hugs coming to you.
I'm so happy for you, you will dream of more things than there is time to accomplish, What fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat win Kaaren. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteYes, remember the good ol' days too!
Congrats on your win!!!! Hey, I remember the 60's, that was my era - well, I remember some of it. I remember my first mini-skirt, and everyone calling me Twiggy.

Lucky dog. Your stars must have been aligned with the age of Aquarius??? whatever that means. The only era lyrics I could come up with!
ReplyDeleteI recall all those things, had the go go boots, bell bottoms, super mini skirts....ahhh the good old days.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your win, can't wait to see what you come up with.
All those are before my time, but certainly not my older siblings. My oldest brother was at Woodstock. My sister had the go go boots and lots of cousins wore the poodle skirts. (I know because I've seen all the photos.) Lucky you to try that fun 'Go'.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Kaaren. From what I have seen on Paulette's blog you will have some fun with the "GO".
