First Friday Freebie

It’s Friday…and the first one of the month too!

At last…my First Friday Freebie that I just can’t wait to share with you all.

The idea came to me one evening not too long ago when the creative part of my brain just refused to shut down.  I guess after designing for so many years in the Decorative Painting industry, that part of me still refuses to rest.  Hence, the idea of FFF was born.  I can still fulfill my desire to design and create and hopefully you’ll like some or all of my designs well enough to include them  with your other creative endeavors.  That would just make my ♥ sing!

Have you felt that Fall is in the Air?

DSCN0942

For my first FFF, I designed a mini quilt or wall hanging entitled Fall is in the Air.  It is Fall-themed and is stitched on tea-dyed muslin.

The PDF file may be found by clicking on the above photo.  There you will be able to download the color picture, line drawing and instructions.

Click on the photo below to see a larger version.

DSCN0942

Remember, you may enlarge or reduce the pattern to suit your needs and  all I ask is that you please respect the fact that all parts of the design are copyright protected.

If there is something about the design or instructions that you don’t understand, I am an email away.  There is a link to my email address on the sidebar.

fff button_sml[1]So please grab my button, place it on your sidebar and link back to my blog in order that you can share it with those who might not otherwise find their way here.  This is my way of giving back to all of you who have made my life so much richer since I started blogging back in January of this year.

The button will also be a reminder  that on the First Friday of each month I will be posting a new Freebie design to share with you all.

Thanks for stopping by and as always…

Happy stitching!

Kaaren ♥

P.S.  My sincere and heartfelt thanks to Robyn of Daisy Quilts for her unyielding patience and assistance in helping me with all the technical stuff related to bringing you the FFF feature.   I could NEVER have managed this without her.

Kaaren, thank you for the nice comments on my blog. I have just spent some time viewing your tutorials. My you are an outstanding teacher, each step broken down exactly. I wish I could have tole painted with you, in years past I used to teach decorative painting. I attended Priscilla Hauser's seminars and am an accredited teacher, but that was in the early 1980's. I don't paint much at all any more, but since I have quit working I make quilt tops, most I have machine quilted. The Batik Puzzle quilt on my blog in the only one that I machine quilted myself, stitch in the ditch. I am back to hand quilting on my Grandma's Friendship Blocks quilt. My mother in law made the blocks by hand in the early 1940's, and I have used reproduction 1930's fabrics to complete the log cabin border design. We found the blocks after her death in 2003, never knowing she had ever quilted. It is quite a treasure and is for my oldest daughter. Way too long, sorry! I just wanted you to know that I appreciate your talent and teaching skills.
