At the outset, I’d like to thank you all for your most wonderful comments about my First Friday Freebie pattern. I am thrilled to bits and as of last night, there were over 700 downloads of my ‘Fall is in the Air!’ pattern. Can you hear my heart singing?
Three wonderfully speedy stitchers have shared their completed projects.
Darlene from Quilting Daze
Tudy from Tudy’s Craft Cupboard…
and Julie from Julie K Quilts…
Cool, huh? Now these gals work quickly, don’t they?
Yesterday I completed the line drawing for next month’s First Friday Freebie which will be available on Friday, October 2nd. I’m excited about it and I hope you’ll like it as well.
Last week, I received another RAK, this time from my ‘bestest’ blogging friend Julie from OZ. I met Julie through a swap I joined, not too long after I started blogging in January of this year. Julie was the swap hostess and because there was an uneven number of swap participants, when all was said and done, Julie became my swap partner and the rest as they say is history.
Here’s what Julie sent to me…
The pincushion is amazing, personalized with a x-stitched ‘K’ . It’s much too nice to use so it sits on the antique Shaker sideboard in my studio along with my other ‘special’ things.
The Australian flag hangs on our patio doors going out to the garden…
And of course the boomerang key chain is already keeping my keys company…
Julie is also having a giveaway on her blog to promote breast cancer awareness and research. Rosalie Quinlan, an Australian designer and breast cancer survivor herself has donated some awesome prizes. Robyn and I have also donated items which are included in Julie’s giveaway. Click on the button below to find out more.
It’s been a busy week. I hope you all had time to share with your family, friends and hobbies.
Happy stitching!
Kaaren ♥
Wow! Those ladies work fast! I'd love to start mine but darn if I don't have other projects that I must finish first!
ReplyDeleteLove your RAK goodies!
Thats wonderful that your design has proven so popular, I'm not surprised. I'm glad you're having fun with it too. You have some lovely gifts there, especially the pincushion because as you know, you can't have too many of those.
ReplyDeleteThey really do work fast! They all did a great job!
ReplyDeleteI love your gifts you got from Julie.
Now I'm off to get The Great Pumpkin instructions. I can't wait to make these!
So there are more than one Ms. Speedys!! I've also heard of another blogger working on this block...wouldn't be surprised to see it finished today! LOL
ReplyDeleteRAKs.....simply the best.
I have downloaded it, but I have not made it yet. Busy working on the "A Christmas Wish" BOM. I love your pattern and I have printed it out already. And I already have fabric on hand I can use to start the stitching. Also I want to thank you for the great tip on what pen to use to trace the pattern. I was using a mechanical pencil and getting frustrated with it. I have a pen similiar to what you suggested and tried that to trace a few of the blocks I am doing from the BOM. Wow! So much easier. So thanks again for that tip!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
~Linnea
wow....you can be proud of thier finishes
ReplyDeleteMy goodness those ladies are quick! I haven't started mine - I better get going before winter, lol!
ReplyDeleteLovely package you recieved!
I am getting close to getting my stitchery done. Working on the words and then doing the sewing part is what is left to do.
ReplyDeleteKaaren,
ReplyDeleteOne of my blog readers told me about your 'First Friday Freebie' yesterday. I am so in love with the pattern and cannot wait to work on it. I think it will be the project that I take along with me over the weekend while we're away at a friend's cabin. Thanks for sharing such a great pattern and I'm so excited to see the others. I'll be looking forward to the beginning of each month :)

Wow they were indeed fast!! How nice that so many people want to recreate your art in their own way. I say it is a testament to your talent and kindness for sharing!! I hope you get to see many morer finishes!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope you have the same crisp air we have had the last few days. I got some bittersweet, put out the rest of fall, made my first pot of soup for the season and we're having our first pork tenderloin cooked with apples and a side or butternut squash for dinner tomorrow. It must be fall!! WOO HOO!
Those quilters are amazingly quick!! They look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteLove the goodies you received -- especially the pincushion! It is gorgeous!
