I like more traditional fabrics, but I purchased a Kaffee jelly roll of blues/greens to make a quilt for my daughter-in-law. Last count she had been on 21 Caribbean cruises and has hopes for more! She loved the quilt, it is exactly what she likes. It is perfect for her, I am very happy I decided to purchase that "wild" fabric.Bette Ihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11433559560014037416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2745598838662491175.post-48288562811303460242016-03-07T01:06:13.852-04:002016-03-07T01:06:13.852-04:00The saying goes : "a change is as good as a h...The saying goes : "a change is as good as a holiday". I too am a traditional quilter, BUT I'm thinking of buying and using some Kaffe fabrics for the La Passagalia quilt. I've seen some done and they are such a wonderful cacophony of color! I expect to cave soon. :-) Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17031010346576416867noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2745598838662491175.post-44642814509856144502016-02-29T09:43:08.370-04:002016-02-29T09:43:08.370-04:00Well this is very interesting! But, for some reason, like you, I am attracted to Kaffe's fabrics. I just know you will do something marvelous with them. We are all waiting on pins and needles. I agree with Janet, the bright colors seem to make me happy and are encouraging. I love the idea of the houses, that would be a great quilt. Good luck and share when you can.<br />Robin Waggoner, Quilter and Designerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07471916584607467099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2745598838662491175.post-2151606091357791002016-02-29T02:42:58.227-04:002016-02-29T02:42:58.227-04:00When Kaffe fabrics first came out (years ago!), I ...When Kaffe fabrics first came out (years ago!), I hated them. I couldn't imagine buying them and couldn't understand why anyone would. Now, they are my favorite fabric--especially the ones designed by Philip Jacobs. I suspect they will grow on you. It is an amazing thing--they all just work together. I think you will find you'll enjoy working with the bright colors and that they will actually make you feel happier! I have bought quite a few of the modern fabric collections as seen on Red Pepper Quilts, but, while I love the bright colours, they just aren't for me. I always go back to the Civil War and reproduction fabrics. I tried making a few quilts from the modern fabric, but I never seem to get them finished. I think it's Civil War for me all the way. Good luck with your Kaffe fabrics, I'll be very interested to see what you do with them. The schoolhouse pattern looks like it would be awesome with these prints.Heartsdesirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13046284753160269492noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2745598838662491175.post-39963504704664120782016-02-28T13:08:32.575-04:002016-02-28T13:08:32.575-04:00Very nice fabrics ...always!!
