We're making headway, slowly but surely. I can't remember ever being this tired in my entire life. Getting old is the pits!
The majority of our personal and 'house' things have been unpacked and sorted and we're slowly finding a place for everything that we've decided to keep.
We downsized considerably before moving here but until you actually live, breath and sleep in a place, you don't really get a feel for it. Well, we've slept here for eight nights now and we definitely know what's staying and what's going. Bring on the spring yard sales because we're going to have MANY!!!
Of course my sewing room is taking the longest to unpack and set up. I'm taking my time going through each box deciding what I'm going to keep, what I'm going to donate/share and what's going out in the trash. There's lots in each category....trust me!
We haven't hung anything on the walls as yet and that won't happen until we decide if the furniture is going to stay where it is or get moved to a different spot. With every passing day it's beginning to feel a lot more like home and I think we're going to be very happy here.
I'll leave you with one picture and that is of my quilt cabinet.

Blessings to you- I can not even imagine moving! We have lived in the same home for 31 years! I love your sewing cabinet- it filled with so many quilts! I wish for you some rest and a very Merry Christmas!

Glad to see you settling in. Did you end up buying the house that you wrote about? Can't wait to see your decor. It is always so inspiring.

I have moved nine time so I completely understand. It often feels so overwhelming!
Your quilt cabinet is gorgeous.
Good luck in your new home.
So glad you are settled and now enjoy your new home. Look forward to all you new things you will be sewing soon.
Hope you find happiness in your new home. As a military family, we had many moves over my husband's 34 years of service. Each home presented new challenges, and it didn't get any easier as we got older. Now we have settled down, but head south every winter! Fortunately, it is not like a move, although we fill our van in both directions. I bring my sewing machine and fabric for a few quilt projects to work on over the winter months, but I always seem to find new projects, and have to add some new fabric.
I'm sure your house will feel like home in no time!
You haven't said, how are Ollie and Frankie settling in? A new year is coming upon us and you will be settling in before you know it.
I have just realized that you are one of three blogs in my sidebar who has made a big move this past month! All on different continents, too. Interesting!
It sounds like you are starting to get comfortable in your new place. I hope you can find all your holiday stuff. Merry Christmas!
It's so nice to hear from you again. Hopefully you can put your feet up soon and enjoy a relaxing Christmas. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year as you settle into your new home. Looking forward to the pictures!
I'm glad you are settled. Take it slow and enjoy the holiday.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I hope you are getting your rest while doing all that work! I'm glad it's starting to feel like home.
Just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas! I'm glad your getting settled. Hugs,
I hope you are getting enough rest.
Merry Christmas in your new home!
Waiting to put up wall art is a good idea.
Nice to have an update from you. 😊 I totally get the tired, feeling too old thing. Moving really takes it out of you. I hope you take it easy, rest up and enjoy the holiday season. It's flying by this year! Merry Christmas and happy new home.
What a big job. I don't know if I could ever make a move again. I know I have way too much stuff!
I hope you will be able to settle in and be comfortable for the holiday.
I love your cabinet. Looks beautiful and displays your quilts nicely. Have the merriest Christmas in your new home.
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year in your new home!
good to know the move has gone well and you are settling in, good idea not to rush things but wait and see how you want it all to look
Love the pic of the quilt cabinet! And, love the wood floors and soft colors on the walls... looks like a great place to set up home! :-) I hope you both can get in some good rest soon and enjoy some Christmas! :-)
Perfect right down to the "bless this house" pillow. Glad you rewarded yourself with those fabrics. Could be dangerous living that close to the quilt store. Happy and bless holiday season to you and yours!
Your quilt cabinet is so nice! I'm sure it feels great to get settled a little more each day. Merry Christmas to you, Mr. Painted Quilt, Frankie & Ollie!
Merry Christmas. Enjoy your new home. Remember one ladies trash is another treasure so you might want to have a freebie section at your yard sales instead throwing it in the trash, LOL!
I see many 20 minute road trips in your future!
I love your stories you put on here, and hope you love your new home. Do you think you would have some kind of online sale of your scraps? I like to get them for my Grandaughters to learn with.
Your quilt cabinet will look fabulous in any spot in your home. It's so warm and comforting looking! Welcome to your new home!
