Yesterday was my first day out. Now I know what a caged bird feels like when they're set free!
Mr. Painted Quilt took me for a drive in the beautiful sunshine. I was very apprehensive because trying to maneuver through the snow that is still on the ground is not easy, especially when using a walker.
Today is another beautiful day so out we went again to to meet some friends for breakfast. What fun!
I have to continually remind myself not to over do it...at least not until after Thursday when I see the orthopaedic surgeon for my post-op examination. I'm hoping that everything has healed as it should and that I'm given the go ahead to climb the stairs. If so, you'll know where to find me!
Happy stitching!

Prayers all is healing well
Nothing better than a drive in the country to clear the cobwebs. Hope it's good news from your doctor. I'm sure there are many lovely things waiting for you in your sewing room.
Congratulations and continued flexibility. Stay safe on your travels.
Great news! Enjoy your new freedom (with caution)
Hi Kaaren,
So glad that you have been able to go for some outings. The sun is making it feel that spring is not too far away.
Take care.
Dianne
So happy that you are able to be out and about!! Best wishes.
I am glad you were able to get out, nothing worse than being stuck inside all winter. Sometimes we just go for a ride for a change of pace and to look at the ocean.
Debbie
I totally know how you feel. I broke my arm in two places after falling on the ice a couple winters ago and I am still freaked out about falling with all the ice and snow we have this year. I sure hope you get the go ahead and can get upstairs. That will be the best therapy there is. My fingers are crossed for you.
Monumental day, Kaaren! Here's hoping the flight up the stairs isn't far off!
Way to go! Quilters are tough...especially when our sewing rooms are upstairs-lol. Keep up the great recovery!
I don't have to tell you to take it easy when you do get the ok, just be careful. I'm sure you have missed the sewing room lots. It s nice you got out to enjoy some sunshine .

such wonderful news Kaaren.....so happy to hear you're doing so well....yes....realising you're not able to do everything NOW is the hardest part isn't it? I found that out after my knee replacement....the good ol' body soon told me though! All forward from here!

So wonderful to read that you are getting out and about....please take it slow and be careful.
Yahoo!! Wishing you well...let's hope that you are kicking those heels on Thursday! (but not too high...gently does it!!:)
Please do be careful, Kaaren! I fell a couple of weekends ago in the snow. Didn't break anything, but I still ache. We need you around for many, many years! I can imagine how you must yearn to be able to get to your workroom! SOON!
